It’s 58%, which is still relatively high, but clearly reality is starting to set in. Details here.

The mainstream media keep this guy propped up.
The MSM outlets are all a bunch of sycophants.

  2. Hey There says:

Uh Oh, are people starting to realize that this guy doesn’t have the experience, knowledge or even ability to do everything he promised?

Honestly, I could have won if I promised everything he did. People were just so ready to get Bush out (including myself) that all this guy had to do was say “Change” and people started going nuts. The fact that he has no experience (or very little experience) is irrelevant. I can’t get a job with out at least 3-5 years of previous experience and I’m just a web designer. Obama was a senator for less than two and now he’s the president… that’s pretty crazy to me.

I look at like this: It’s like high school class president elections. The person who promises a pop/soda and candy machine in every hallway, new cheerleader outfits and extended lunch periods is going to win – But the idiot students who vote for this person aren’t thinking about how much this will cost (certainly under a trillion), if this candidate can get these things and if he/she even has permission to do so. These people were just so blinded by what they wanted to hear that they didn’t think twice about it.

Don’t get me wrong, I think Obama’s heart is in the right place, but just that he bit off a little more than he can chew.

  3. The approval percentage number is evidently misleading because the “Undecided” or “Don’t know” percentage usually approaches about 10%. Some of the polls show this third percentage to be from 0%-4%. It’s unlikely the people are so polarized. Usually there are enough who are honest about not having an informed opinion to make up this 10%. When this number approaches zero, it suggests a sampling error of some kind. Maybe it was the questions, which may not have been a strict “Do you approve of Obama’s performance?”. The question might have been “Do you disapprove of Obama’s performance?”. It’s more or less the negation of the same question but polite people would be more likely to say “No”, which might be recorded as approving of the President’s performance.
As we saw, with the likes of Katie Couric and Brian Williams, the press who is supposed to report the news can do a great deal to influence the public’s perception.
Part of the issue may have been venue. Did the surveyors call during working hours, while most working taxpayers would have been at work? Was the survey area known to be predominantly one party or the other?
Any of such things could skew the results in a particular direction. One cannot consider the outcome of the polls without considering the class of people conducting the poll nor the credibility of those directing the polls. Were the people taking the polls day-workers? Volunteers? What kind of people might be professional poll takers?
How honest are any of these people? Would they interpret a maybe answer as “Undecided”, “Yes” or “No”?
That’s where I think the problem lies. People hear exactly what they want to hear, just as you will read just exactly what you want to read….
