Rasmussen: Obama’s Approval Rating Falls to 52%-48% in Michigan

According to Rasmussen:

Forty-four percent (44%) of voters now approve of the way Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm is doing her job. That’s down slightly from 46% in June and 48% in April. Fifty-six percent (56%) disapprove of the Democrat’s performance. The current figures include 22% who Strongly Approve of her performance and 39% who Strongly Disapprove.

The president’s ratings are a bit better: 52% approve and 48% disapprove. Those figures include 37% who Strongly Approve and 37% who Strongly Disapprove. The president’s total approval ratings in Michigan are down from 59% in June and 64% in April. Nationally, roughly half of the nation’s voters give the President’s performance their approval in the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll.

Obama carried Michigan with 57% of the vote in last November’s election. The state has gone for every Democratic presidential candidate since 1992.

In Michigan, as across the country, the president’s proposal for health care reform is struggling to win support. Overall, 47% of Michigan voters favor the plan while 51% are opposed. Those opposed to the plan feel much more strongly about it: 29% Strongly Favor the health care reform plan while 44% are Strongly Opposed.
